Action Tracking for Everyone & More Dependable Minutes

The action items tracker now sits beside the transcript for every organisation, and the newest generation of AI models is available to power your agents. Meeting setup makes it clear when changes are unsaved and always generates from the configuration you see. A series of reliability fixes means calendar connections recover gracefully, Word exports open with proper title styling and continuous numbering, and knowledge base uploads handle more document formats.

Action Items Tracker for Every Organisation

Why we updated this

Decisions and follow-up actions agreed in a meeting are easy to lose sight of once the minutes are drafted — most teams still track them by hand in separate lists or spreadsheets.

How it works now

Introducing the action items tracker: a new panel beside the transcript on the minutes page that captures decisions and follow-ups and keeps them aligned with the minutes as you work. It is available to every organisation, with no integration required. Support requests raised from the dashboard also now go straight to the support team, removing the extra review step that previously delayed a response.

What to do

Open any meeting's minutes page — the action items tracker is there by default. No setup required.

Latest-Generation AI Models Available

Why we updated this

Organisations tuning their agents for accuracy and tone want access to the newest AI models once validated, without waiting for a platform upgrade cycle.

How it works now

The newest generation of OpenAI models is now available in the model selection when configuring agents, and minutes generation runs on them without any additional configuration.

What to do

Open an agent in organisation settings and choose one of the new models from the model dropdown.

IMPROVEMENTS

Meeting Setup Saves Predictably and Generates What You See

Why we updated this

It was possible to press Generate Minutes while recent setup changes had not yet been saved — so the minutes could be produced from an older configuration than the one on screen — and saving would sometimes navigate you away from the page mid-flow.

How it works now

Saving now keeps you on the setup page and clearly marks unsaved changes, and the Generate Minutes button stays disabled until your latest changes are saved. Generation also respects the workflow you selected on the page rather than substituting a different one.

What to do

No action needed — the setup page enforces this automatically from your next meeting onward.

Calendar Connections Recover Gracefully

Why we updated this

When a calendar connection permanently expired — for example after a password reset or a change of organisation policy — meetings quietly stopped syncing, with no prompt to fix it.

How it works now

Starlight now detects when a calendar connection can no longer be refreshed, stops the failing background retries, and shows a clear prompt to reconnect. Reconnecting restores syncing immediately.

What to do

If you see a reconnect prompt on the dashboard, follow it once — no other action is needed.

More Resilient Minutes Drafting

Why we updated this

An occasional small formatting error introduced by the AI while drafting, or a brief network interruption during generation, could fail the whole run and force you to start again.

How it works now

  • Minor list-formatting errors introduced during drafting are repaired automatically — or the draft is quietly regenerated once — instead of failing the whole run.
  • Brief network interruptions during generation are retried rather than failing the run.
  • A fault that could silently skip your knowledge bases during drafting has been fixed, so minutes consistently draw on your organisation's reference material.
  • Transcripts saved in an older storage format load reliably again.

What to do

No action needed — generation completes more consistently from this release onward.

FIXES

Word Exports Open with Proper Title Styling

Why we updated this

The entity name heading at the top of exported minutes could arrive in Word as a plain paragraph rather than a true Title — so documents did not open with the intended look, and the title could lose its styling after an edit round-trip.

How it works now

Exports now map the document title to Word's proper Title style in every case — including minutes created in earlier versions of Starlight and drafts where the title was saved as ordinary paragraph text. The minutes editor also gained a Title option in its text-style menu, so the title line stays recognised and editable.

What to do

No action needed — re-export existing minutes to pick up the corrected styling.

Outline Numbering Stays Continuous and Consistent

Why we updated this

Numbered outlines in exported minutes could restart at 1 partway through a document, continuation paragraphs could sit out of line with their point, and list markers could render in a different font from the body text — small inconsistencies that matter on formal board minutes.

How it works now

Outline lists now number continuously through the document in both the editor and the Word export, follow-on paragraphs align with their point's text column, and list markers use the same font as the surrounding body text.

What to do

No action needed — regenerate or re-export existing minutes to pick up the improvements.

Word Downloads Work Straight After Generation

Why we updated this

Downloading minutes as a Word document immediately after generation could occasionally produce a single block of raw text with stray symbols instead of a formatted document.

How it works now

Downloads now produce a properly formatted Word document every time — whether the minutes were generated moments ago, edited since, or created in an earlier version of Starlight.

What to do

No action needed — downloads behave correctly from this release onward.

Smoother Knowledge Base Uploads and Removal

Why we updated this

Word documents saved by certain third-party tools failed to upload into knowledge bases because of how those tools package the file, and removing a document could error if the underlying file had already been cleaned up.

How it works now

Uploads now accept those non-standard Word files and index them correctly, and removing a document completes cleanly regardless of the state of the underlying file.

What to do

No action needed — retry any previously failing upload; it will now index as expected.
