NEW FEATURES
Download Original Files From a Knowledge Base
Why we built this
Once a board pack or set of previous minutes had been added to a knowledge base, there was no way to retrieve the original document from Starlight. Clients asked for direct access to the files they had uploaded, so we added a download control to each file.
How it works
Every file in a knowledge base now has a download control that returns the original document exactly as it was uploaded. Downloads are available to workspace owners, team administrators and Starlight support. The same access rules used to view the knowledge base also apply to its files, so anyone who cannot open a knowledge base cannot download from it.
Each file in a knowledge base carries its own download control, next to the existing delete control.
What to do
Open a knowledge base and use the download control beside any file.
Multi-Agent Minutes Generation for Every Workspace
Why we built this
A single pass over a long board pack can give every agenda item similar weight, reducing the detail captured for the discussions that matter most. Drafting each part of the minutes with a dedicated agent keeps the depth where the discussion took place. This approach was piloted with client firms before being made available to everyone.
How it works
Several agents now work together to draft the minutes, with each one responsible for a specific part of the document. Their work is then assembled into a single set of minutes that follows the same house style and template as before. Editing, review and export remain unchanged, and firms that used the feature during the pilot will see no change to their workflow.
Generating minutes runs each part of the document through its own agent, and the progress panel shows each one as it works.
What to do
No action needed — this is now on for every workspace, and generating minutes uses it automatically.
IMPROVEMENTS
More Reliable Agenda Reading From Difficult Board Packs
Why we updated this
Some board-pack layouts made agendas difficult to read correctly — for example, when a title wrapped across several lines or numbering restarted partway down the page. We worked through a set of challenging real-world layouts and corrected each case.
How it works now
Agenda titles that wrap across multiple lines are now read as a single title, while numbering follows the structure of the source document. If an agenda cannot be read from the pack, Starlight drafts from the transcript instead of returning an empty agenda.
What to do
No action needed — this applies to agendas as they are uploaded.
Agenda Numbering in the Pre-Flight Checklist
Why we updated this
The checks shown before minutes are generated listed agenda items as plain bullets, which made them hard to reconcile against the agenda in the pack.
How it works now
The pre-flight checklist shows each agenda item under its own number, matching the numbering in your agenda document, so you can confirm at a glance that the right agenda has been picked up before generating.
What to do
No action needed — the checklist appears before minutes are generated.
FIXES
Fixes and Refinements
In this release
- The owner assigned to an action is kept with that action, so the actions register agrees with the minutes.
- Actions no longer re-sync repeatedly while minutes are open, and action wording stays whole instead of being broken across bullets.
- Word exports are named after the date the meeting took place, not the day the document was downloaded.
- Knowledge base selections made on the meeting page are kept when the pre-flight checks run.
- Minutes sent to Beacon reach the intended destination, and their actions carry the correct owners.
- Buttons and minutes styling read correctly in dark mode.
What to do
No action needed.
